The Backlash Arrives?

Since September 11, 2001, our Democratic brethren have been wringing their hands about the potential for a redneck "backlash" against American Moslems every time some Islamist nutball slaughters our people in their effort to define Islam as a nutball-based religion. Has the backlash (finally!) arrived in America?

It could be a parking place dispute that got murderously out of hand. Or it could be a hate crime:

Police investigating the murders of three Muslim students in the United States said they were studying whether the fatal shootings were religiously motivated, as calls mounted for the killings to be treated as a hate crime.

Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder after Tuesday's slayings in the North Carolina university town of Chapel Hill which sparked outrage amongst Muslims worldwide.

Multiple murder is horrible enough without needing to tack on hate crime charges to make the accused look really bad, isn't it?

But it could provide some comfort to the left as validating their expressed worries that often can't wait for the actual victims of the jihadis to be buried and mourned.

Sadly for the fear of the dread backlash, the accused killer isn't exactly a poster child for the Tea Party movement:

Killer of 3 UNC-Chapel Hill Muslim Students Was Hardcore Anti-Religion Atheist Progressive. “Included in his many Facebook ‘likes’ are the Huffington Post, Rachel Maddow, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy,’ Neil deGrasse Tyson, Gay Marriage groups, and a host of anti-conservative/Tea Party pages.” The ABC story shockingly omits that information.

Damn tea bag--wait. What?

Well that's inconvenient. Just when you think the backlash has arrived, it may be the wrong backlash.

But have no doubt that the lives of these victims matters to America. The killer will be tried and if found guilty, will be punished. There will be no leniency and no justification for his killing of three people because the victims were Moslem.

Indeed, the death penalty doesn't seem like too much of a punishment for this kind of crime.

Because this is America, Moslem lives do matter here--far more than they do overseas where Islamo-fascist jihadis kill Moslems with even greater vigor and glee that they apply to Westerners.

UPDATE: Oh! So close! The Washington Post tried mightily to make this seem like an anti-Islam attack. We keep getting the wrong backlashes. What's wrong with you haters out there? Get busy to meet leftist expectations!
