How Cute!

Look! A bunch of powerless people pretending to be a parliament ridicule the decision of an actual voter-elected parliament!

They dress up just like real representatives of the people!

China's National People's Congress firmly opposes the so-called resolution passed by Japan's lower house of parliament, said Xinhua, citing a statement by the congress.

Japanese lawmakers had adopted a resolution protesting China's "reckless and risky measures" and said they would never accept Beijing's "unilateral attempts to change the status quo".

Actually, my point is an old one I've made before. If representative democracy is such a Western thing not really applicable to other societies, why do all the despotic regimes go to the effort to pretend to have representative democracy?
