So What Angers Our Pakistani Friends?

Can we put Pakistan in a basket on China's doorstep with a note asking them to take care of this problem child?

Our friends, the Pakistanis!

NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen urged Pakistan on Monday to keep open supply lines to NATO forces in Afghanistan despite anger over a U.S. drone strike that killed the Pakistani Taliban leader.

Pakistan said on Sunday it would review its relationship with the United States after Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud was killed two days earlier in North Waziristan, near the Afghan border.

That's great. The Pakistanis are upset that we killed the Taliban leader in Pakistan.

This comes after Pakistanis are finally getting over their rage that we killed the al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, two years ago as he hid inside Pakistan.

Yeah, that's special.

Look, I'm a big boy. We do what we need to do because we need Pakistan. Right now, a frenemy is better than an enemy.

But when we don't need Pakistan--or when Pakistan helps us too little to be worth the trouble--I will surely enjoy dumping them on to some other unlucky sap with a check book.
