This is supposed to be ominously threatening to Iran:
In an apparent message to Iran, the Israeli military said Thursday it had carried out a "special long-range flight exercise" and posted rare footage of the drill online.
The military said its squadrons practiced refueling planes in midair this week and tested the air force's ability. The accompanying footage shows a tanker plane refueling a fighter jet midair, a key part of any long-range operation.
While it is possible that Israel has enough aerial refueling capacity to launch a bare-bones 100-plane strike against Iran's nuclear targets, such a force risks easy detection when it is launched.
As I discussed in that post and in this one, Israel needs ways to strike Iran that reduces the signature of every refueling plane in Israel's arsenal taking off in a short time period along with lots of combat aircraft.
If Israel has thought outside the box for the means of striking Iran that reduce the need for aerial refueling, Israel has every interest in getting the Iranians to stare at the box long enough to achieve surprise outside of it.
