Islamophobia

When we fought in Iraq, if we scratched the paint of a mosque where insurgents and terrorists sheltered, we faced the accusation of being anti-Islam. Why using a mosque as a terrorist base wasn't at least considered disrespectful of Islam was beyond me. Let's be clear about who is anti-Moslem.

Iraqi terrorists continue to display a love of Islam as Iraqis prepare to vote tomorrow:

Mortar rounds targeted a Sunni Muslim mosque in Iraq and a bomb exploded inside a Shi'ite mosque on Friday in attacks that killed at least eight people a day before local elections.

People can't forget that it isn't anti-Islam to fight and kill Islamist terrorists. Islamist terrorists pile up a bigger body count of Moslems than anyone else, after all. The proper way to view our fight against Islamo-fascist thugs is that it is pro-Moslem.

Remember, too, that misguided Westerners who claim our fight against Islamist terrorists is anti-Islam actually harm Moslems in general by essentially arguing that fighting jihadis is an insult to all Moslems. For fighting jihadis to be an insult to all Moslems, all Moslems would have to be pro-terrorist, wouldn't they? Is the left really arguing that?

In fact, most Moslems are not pro-terrorist. Many are too afraid of the terrorists to actively oppose the terrorists, of course. But more success in our fight will reduce the fear factor and enable more Moslems to actively oppose terrorism coming from their own societies.
