I Defy the Defiance

Mad Minerva belatedly discovers the Thoma Friedman op-ed generator. She must be very busy, as this site has been up and running for a while.

While good, the site generator seems to lack the one signature aspect of a truly self-inflating Friedman piece:

It's quite funny. But it lacks the feature of any really good column that begins a point by noting how Friedman was chatting with Known Bigshot at some Elite Conference, and while exchanging views on some Trivial Thing, came to a blinding flash of insight.

But you can only do so much programming in your spare time to mock the most mockable of conventional wisdom writers of the left aristocracy. The author of the site, as genius as the concept is, could have taken a much simpler route to mocking Friedman:

To truly mock Friedman, you should simply randomly access his actual columns from the New York Times web site. That would be devastating.

Because, as I like to say (because I can, this being my own site), I'm not saying that you can't drown in a pool of Friedman's wisdom. But you would have to be drunk and face down to do so.
