Inshallah, Don't Do As We Do

I keep speaking of the need to get the Iraqis to accept rule of law as a basis for their democracy to deepen. Well before we won on the battlefield, that seemed like the final stage of the fight.

I still get nervous over our failure to take on that role.

Let's hope that the Iraqis do what is right rather than follow our example.
