According to the Department of Defense:
Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus announced today via video message at the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) inactivation ceremony that the third Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier will be named Enterprise.
She will be CVN 80.
My mind tells me we should be thinking of how to phase out the super carriers in favor of more appropriate and more numerous platforms.
My heart is glad the name lives on.
