We have Good News and Bad News, Comrade

Comrade President Hu Jintao certainly had a good news-bad news moment when his staff informed him that the passengers of a Chinese airliner overpowered hijackers and saved the plane and people aboard:

Last Friday, in the city of Hotan, six ethnic Uighurs aged 26 to 30, rose from their seats after takeoff, three in front and three in back, and tried to hijack the flight that was headed for the capital, Urumqi.

According to passenger accounts written on Chinese microblogs, some tried to break into the cockpit as others tried to set off explosives. ...

The passengers rose together to subdue all six hijackers, tying them up with their belts. They might have even beaten two of them to death. Rough justice, yes, but it sent an unequivocal message to terrorists about hijacking commercial flights in China.

"Good news, Comrade Hu! The glorious people of China have risen up against murderous thugs who sought to take them prisoner and kill them!"

Good news, indeed! "And the bad news, Comrade Aide?"

"Yes, the bad news. It seems that potential counter-revolutionary dogs have proven to have the spirit to rise up against murderous thugs who sought to take them prisoner and kill them."
