It's a Diamond Jubilee

The British are celebrating:

Britain is marking Queen Elizabeth II's 60 years on the throne with a four-day holiday weekend of ceremony, symbolism and street parties.

Congratulations to the queen and the British people. I don't get that whole monarchy thing, but you guys seem to like it. You still have a free country, so enjoy what you want!

We've been good allies for a long time. I've even pretty much gotten over that burning of Washington thing.

With the Royal Navy too small to participate in the Thames River flotilla, the British people with their own boats are making up the difference recalling the spirit of the evacuation of Dunkirk:

More than 1,000 boats were to sail down the River Thames on Sunday in a flotilla tribute to Queen Elizabeth II's 60 years on the throne that organizers are calling the biggest pageant on the river for 350 years.

Indeed, three dozen of those Dunkirk boats are there. Let's hope the Royal Navy can be a presence the next celebration.
