Revolutionworld

The cul-de-sac (and McMansion) communists of California wanted their very own Occupy experience. So they bought the all-day pass:

A clique of privileged U.C. Berkeley students, upset that they’re the top 1% of elite students in the state and thus disqualified from participating in the Occupy movement, could no longer contain their frustration on Wednesday and threw an Occutantrum, attempting to “occupy” a few square yards of the 1,200-acre campus. The police dutifully played their roles in the street theater performance, showing up in riot gear and looking scary so the privileged students could shout at them and feel properly revolutionary, as instructed by their professors. Following the script, the police repeatedly removed the handful of occupation tents so that the students could feel sufficiently wronged by authority figures and thereby earn their “Berkeley protest stripes,” which have been a requirement for graduation since 1964.

I bet that was really fun! Police and chants! They'll show off the grass stain on their retro bell bottom jeans for decades to come to prove they were there! They won't hold their personhood, cheap. Oh no! They will not think themselves accurs'd to have not been there. They can claim, "These stains I had on Occupy day."

And at Harvard (tip to Instapundit), actual one percenters (their parents must be so proud!) figuratively set up the scaffolds that would be used to hang them--but without the actual revolutionary riff raff they'd experience off campus. This was the best part:

Harvard University Police briefly detained one demonstrator, Jeff Bridges, who yelled, ‘‘I’m a student!’’ Bridges, a third-year divinity student, said he had pushed his way in, waving his ID. ‘‘I think what they’re doing is wrong and immoral, and as a divinity student I should know,’’ he said. Police allowed him to stay inside.

He waves his student ID card like it opens gates, or something. And it does. Hey, his tuition is paid. He gets to go on every ride. But it just seems scary. It's just the experience of revolution without giving up the trust funds or the part on the resume where he puts down "Harvard" as his school. tough luck to the 99.9% who can't do that, eh? And really, he should know "wrong and immoral." He's a divinity student.

Welcome to Revolutionworld!

To all who come to this unhealthy place: Welcome. Revolutionland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the sixties, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of a socialist future. Revolutionland is dedicated to the idiocy, the nightmares, and the hard facts that have created North Korea, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the media.

It's a small revolution, after all. Sing it!

it's a world of blather, a world or tears
it's a world of dopes, it's a world of fears
there's so much that's not fair
that its time we're aware
it's a small Occupy after all

CHORUS:
it's a big farce after all
it's a big farce after all
it's a big farce after all
it's a rich, white Occupy

There is just one latrine and soap that we shun
And a hand signal means something to everyone.
Though the one percent divide
And our notions have died
It's a small small Occupy

Really, it's a stupid revolution, after all.
