Degree of Failure

I'm neither a particular fan nor a critic of Herman Cain. He has more relevant experience than Barack Obama had in 2008. And his relations with women seem superior to Bill Clinton's, with what is known so far.

But give David Gregory a break (tip to Instapundit). What he meant to say was, "“Well, there is no, you know, Aunt Jemima in the party right now who can really force the issue…”

I mean, really. He has a journalism degree, right? He knows better to not go that way. He clearly meant to imply Republican racism despite the popularity of Cain in the primary race with a more subtle approach. "Grand wizard" is getting too close to "Hitler" territory to go unnoticed.

I swear to God, some on the far Left seem convinced that Republicans hate Barack Obama so much because he is a Black man that they'd support a Black man to beat him in 2012.

UPDATE: Seriously, if Cain had a "(D)" after his name we'd hear "alpha male" stories defending him--or at least "understanding" him.
