What End?

France's President Sarkozy promises France will be in the war "to the end:"

Sarkozy said Friday that France's military effort — central to the nearly five-month-old NATO-led operation — "will remain constant."

He said there is no choice but to "go to the end of the mission."

The mission can end if NATO loses the war in Libya, just to be clear. Perhaps I missed something in the translation, but promising to fight until victorious would have been a bit clearer.
