Playing the Israel Card

Israel was hit by terrorism:

Squads of gunmen armed with heavy weapons and explosives crossed into southern Israel on Thursday and attacked buses, cars and an army patrol in one of the boldest attacks on the Jewish state in years, officials said. Israel said the Palestinian assailants from Hamas-ruled Gaza killed seven people after crossing through Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.

I'll guess that Iran managed to get some orders through to someone in Gaza willing to obey.

UPDATE: Some more jihadis in Gaza got the Iranian memo and launched rockets into Israel.

Hopefully, the Israelis don't do more than respond in kind despite the provocation. Israel will harm Hamas far more by letting Assad fall and avoiding doing anything that could possibly distract Syrians from overthrowing Assad.

And if Assad wins in the end, Israel can unleash the pain on Hamas when there is no risk of inadvertently bolstering Assad. Syria will be too shaky to do much in response. And Hamas will still be there.
