Paper Infallibility

A "top editor" of the New York Times clings to her faith:

Ms. Abramson said that as a born-and-raised New Yorker, she considered being named editor of The Times to be like "ascending to Valhalla."

"In my house growing up, The Times substituted for religion," she said. "If The Times said it, it was the absolute truth."

Wow. Even the Pope doesn't claim infallibility on more than matters of faith and morals--and then only when he states he is making an infallible statement. The Times is infallible just by printing it!

I feel blessed to have such a press corps leadership.
