Outreach

As Syrians continue to protest the Assad regime, despite four weeks of government efforts to defeat (200 dead and who knows how many beaten or arrested) or appease protesters, could our government at least quietly remind Assad that NATO's B-Team is coping with Khaddafi, leaving the American Team free to respond to Assad in a similar way that we responded to Khaddafi who faced an uprising?

Not that I expect our government to view Syria as anything but a friend we've yet to make, but just instilling a little doubt in Damascus about what the crazy Americans with their ideas of liberty and decency might do could instill just enough hesitation to make a difference in Syria's body count when the crisis is over, if nothing else.
