Say It Ain't So!

Three men who were arrested for planning to bomb the New York City subway system last year had a link to al Qaeda:

U.S. counterterrorism officials have linked one of the nation's most wanted terrorists to last year's thwarted plot to bomb the New York City subway system, authorities said Wednesday.

Current and former counterterrorism officials said top al-Qaida operative Adnan Shukrijumah met with one of the would-be suicide bombers in a plot that Attorney General Eric Holder called one of the most dangerous since the 9/11 terror attacks.

Jihadis want to kill us. Old news, of course, if you've paid any attention at all. They're bumblers when we catch them but terrorists when they succeed. These guys had connections to a real terrorist. Not so funny, now, is it?

But this isn't the really funny part. Why did the 3 jihadis want to kill us?

Guantanamo Bay? No.

Surely, Iraq, then? Again, no.

Wait for it!

The "good war" made them so angry that they had to kill us:

The trio's lengthy odyssey took them from their homes in Queens to the mountainous, lawless frontier in northwest Pakistan, the front line of the U.S. war on terrorism.

Prosecutors have said the men, motivated by their anger at the U.S. war in Afghanistan, traveled to Peshawar, Pakistan, in the summer of 2008 to fight against U.S. forces.

Huh. Afghanistan, eh? Who knew?

For so long, the anti-war side wanted us to get out of the "bad war" in Iraq that just angered Moslems into jihadi rages so we could focus on the "good war" that Moslems are totally understanding about.

That was always rubbish. Jihadis always have excuses to kill us, but they can change easily as the fashions of the Western Left change. The Left eats it up when the jihadis cite as a reason something that the Left is angry about, too.

The jihadis are simply filled with hate, and they'll kill us over Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Spain, the Crusades, or Britney Spears' enticing ankle flesh that drives men mad.
