No Hope. No Change

The Obama administration has acted on the assumption that Iran's repeated refusals to halt nuclear work that can lead to atomic weapons was solely the fault of America. We failed to ask Tehran to talk about the issue in precisely the right way.

Even if you could believe that a year ago, is it possible to believe it now?

Tehran’s apocalyptic rulers have not unclenched their fists, and no amount of goodwill is going to persuade them to do so. Perhaps that wasn’t clear to Obama a year ago. Now it is clear to almost everyone.

I fear that the administration was so convinced that sweet talk would do the job that nobody has considered what to do to stop the Iranians if outreach didn't work. I fear it is way too late for sanctions to work.

I fear we will decide to learn to love the Iranian bomb.

On the bright side, if the president does decide to use force, what's Oslo going to do? Take back the Peace Prize they already gave him?
