Radio Silence?

Master Sergeant Grishom could use some support. A number of bloggers are not blogging today and possibly through Friday in support of him in his battle with his superiors over his blog.

But I can't be all in on this cause.

Milbloggers are a source of information war strength. If they aren't violating operational security, disrespecting their military or civilian chain of command, or otherwise harming the war effort, they should be free to provide this window to the world on our military and war effort.

These are free citizens or residents, and we should accept that members of a free society who fight for us deserve as much accomodation as possible in their freedom of speech. That freedom can never be as free as a civilians's, but we should not restrict it more than we must.

But some of MS Grisham's topics, based on the article linked through the post above, clearly seem to run counter to his military responsibilities and duties.

So while I hope that some type of settlement can keep A Soldier's Perspective running, I'm not observing radio silence in blanket support.
