When God Smiles On You

As I wrote, who can wonder why Iran thinks God is on their side when the mullahs contemplate the West's response to Iran's nuclear drive?

Taheri explains the sad state of the West's position:

In a speech Thursday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described the latest negotiations as "a diplomatic victory" for his administration. He said he welcomed "nuclear cooperation" with the 5+1 group -- but would not accept the deal in "the form presented to us."

Read it all. Iran isn't even willing to agree to a plan that is clearly in Iran's interests and will not slow Iran's nuclear drive. That's how little they think of us. The Iranians won't even pretend to buckle to a false demand from the West that we seem willing to pretend is real.

After all these years os talks and so-called pressure, the Iranians welcome nuclear cooperation with the West because so far cooperation has meant allowing Iran to advance to being within reach of becoming a nuclear-armed state.

Who can blame Ahmadinejad and the mullahs for believing God is on their side? Really, what evidence would you put up to refute that belief?
