Adolf Hitler may not have shot himself dead and perhaps did not even die in his bunker, it emerged yesterday.
A skull fragment believed for decades to be the Nazi leader’s has turned out to be that of a woman under 40 after DNA analysis.
Scientists and historians had long thought it to be conclusive proof that Hitler shot himself in the head after taking a cyanide pill on 30 April 1945 rather than face the ignominy of capture.
Can you believe this? We failed to put boots on the ground in Berlin to get that dictator--relying on our Russian allies--and end the real war against Nazi Germany, and then ran off to the Pacific to fight the Japanese!
And now we find out we don't actually know what happened to Hitler.
While we were distracted with the Berlin Airlift, the Korean War, Vietnam, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the entire Cold War, Desert Storm, the Balkans, and then Iraq and Afghanistan, Hitler was laughing at us from wherever he hid!
How could we have taken our eye off the ball? Does World War II even count as an Allied victory, now that we know this?
