Does it Even Matter?

Mousavi, despite an apparent inability or desire to push for demonstrations that might shake the regime, is not giving up:

Mousavi insists that Iran's disputed June 12 election was riddled with fraud. He contends that he — not incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — was the rightful winner.

But Iran's powerful Guardian Council proclaimed the election results valid earlier this week, and the regime since has stepped up efforts to isolate and discredit Mousavi.

Earlier Wednesday, the feared Basij militia asked a prosecutor to investigate Mousavi's role in two weeks of violent protests.

Not giving up is not the same as trying to win, however. If the regime is going to go after Mousavi and Mousavi insists the regime must go, Mousavi had best act like he's in the battle for his life. Because it is quite literally his life on the line--and this is true for his family as well.

When you strike a king, kill him.
