Coming Home to Roost, Indeed

Like I've written, the fight against the jihadis is not just being played out in Afghanistan. It is a regional Taliban Campaign that encompasses Afghanistan and Pakistan. Most traffic is from Pakistan to Afghanistan, but the flow can reverse:

Hundreds of Taliban militants poured into northwestern Pakistan in a large frontal attack on a paramilitary base late Saturday and Sunday that left at least 40 militants and 6 Pakistani soldiers dead, according to Pakistani security officials.

The attack, on an outpost of the Frontier Corps paramilitary force in the Mohmand district, appeared to be the heaviest assault on Pakistani troops in months. And in a reversal of usual patterns, it involved a large number of Taliban forces from Afghanistan attacking into Pakistan, signaling coordination among militants on both sides of the border.

Good for the Frontier Corps in holding off the assault. The pucker factor must have been high, but they stood their ground.

Will the Pakistani government get over their fear of Indian invasion? Pakistan is burning from within while theiy fixate on India's military capacity.

The Pakistanis made a deal with the Devil by letting jihadis romp in India and Afghanistan, hoping this would sate their appetite for blood. Inevitably, the jihadis have not been satisfied with killing only Indians and Afghans when deserving victims live right with them in Pakistan.
