Say What?

While I am comforted by President-elect Obama's national security appointments, it is this attitude that he shares with others on the liberal side of the aisle that just drives me nuts:

We've got a unique opportunity to reboot America's image around the world and also in the Muslim world in particular. So we need to take advantage of that.

Our image needs rebooting? For a group that is known for beheading enemies, riots over cartoons and rumors of Koran abuse, fatwahs for "insulting" their religion, throwing acid on girls' faces for going to school, honor killings of innocent women, car bombs, suicide bombings, letting women burn to death rather than let firefighters see their enticing bare flesh while rescuing them, and general insufferable over-sensitivity to anything remotely critical about them, you'd think Islam needs to reboot their image.

But no, our new president is worried about our image with them. Good luck with that.
