He complains about our proposed missile defenses in Eastern Europe that could defend against an Iranian nuclear strike should the Iranians deploy atomic missiles:
These are more than just radar installations that can spy on Russia -- these are missiles. Allegedly, the system is aimed at Iranian missiles. But these don't even exist: Israel and the US would never allow Iran to have nuclear warheads. They place weapons right under our nose and then maintain that they are not pointed at us. That is a lie and a hostile act.
Get that? Russia stops us, with their UN Security Council veto, from imposing harsh international sanctions on Iran to prevent Iran from going nuclear. Russia sells nuclear technology to Iran. Russia sells weapons to Iran. And Russia blusters and threatens Eastern Europe to keep us from deploying weapons that might shoot down Iranian missiles. Missiles that would be a threat to Russia, too, I should add, given Russia's troubled history of warfare with Moslems.
And why do the Russians oppose our missile defenses? Because they assume we or Israel could simply destroy the Iranian nuclear missile threat that Russia is enabling--at a nice profit, I should add.
The cynical irresponsibility of Russia's foreign policy in regard to Iran is stunning. I begin to despise the Russians in ways I never did during the Cold War. At least then, I could simply hate the communists and hope the Russian people weren't like those evil bastards. I could hope that the end of communism might mean Russia would join the West.
The Russians take too much joy in helping our enemies. Now it seems they might just all be evil bastards.
