Oops. He Did It Again

Iran insists it is pursuing nuclear technology regardless of the economic consequences because they really need clean, nuclear-generated electricity.

So this is a bit awkward for Tehran and all those who believe Iran only wants clean, nuclear-generated electricity:

Iran has met a key demand of the U.N. nuclear agency, handing over long-sought blueprints showing how to mold uranium metal into the shape of warheads, diplomats said Tuesday. ...

The agency has been seeking possession of the blueprints since 2005, when it stumbled upon them among a batch of other documents during its examination of suspect Iranian nuclear activities. While agency inspectors had been allowed to examine them in the country, Tehran had up to now refused to let the IAEA have a copy for closer perusal. ...

Iran maintains it was given the papers without asking for them during its black market purchases of nuclear equipment decades ago that now serve as the backbone of its program to enrich uranium — a process that can generate both power or create the fissile core of nuclear warheads.

Yeah, those "buy one enrichment equipment package and get one nuclear warhead blueprint free" deals are pretty common in that part of the world.

I got one when I bought an iPod. Really, the paperwork to return the unwanted item is more hassle than its worth. Just stick it in the desk and forget about it, I say.

That would also explain the two-year delay in forking over the document. It just got shoved under the cyclotron extended warranty agreement. No conspiracy there.

I hate it when that happens.
