Credible Progress

The UN secretary general sees progress on Darfur:

After a weeklong trip to three African countries, the U.N. secretary-general said Sunday he was encouraged by "credible progress" toward settling one of the continent's bloodiest conflicts in Sudan's Darfur region.

With the Sudanese running out of blacks in Darfur to kill or drive away (more than 200,000 murdered and 2.5 million refugees in the last four years), the body count is boudn to go down. To the UN, this is progress.

I'm sure Ban Ki-moon will declare victory when the last Darfurian is murdered and so the death rate plummets to zero.

Woo hoo! Score another for the international community?

If the UN didn't already exist, our enemies would invent it.
