Killing Hearts and Minds

Whenever you hear charges of how we don't properly wage counter-insurgency and just alienate the population with heavy-handed tactics, consider how the Russians and Chinese approach the task:

Russian and Chinese military forces started wargames on Friday, using a joint land and air assault on a mock town held by "terrorists" as a showcase for their military prowess.


They make the Second Battle of Fallujah look like a police sweep.

But the Russians and Chinese have always been fond of the "kill everone in sight" method of pacification.
