Sadly, Their Own Worst Enemy

Zimbabwe's economy is being run into the ground:

"Wholesalers and retailers should desist from allowing bulk buying of basic commodities," Obert Mpofu, the Minister of Industry and International Trade, told the official Herald newspaper on Thursday.

Mugabe denies charges he has presided over the country's worst economic crisis since independence from Britain in 1980 and instead says the West has sabotaged the economy to punish him for seizing white-owned commercial farms for blacks.
Store shelves are emptying as the result of idiotic government policy. The government blames the West.

I wish! Would that the West's intelligence agencies were good enough to sabotage his economy. Although if we were that good I'd hope we'd use the power on countries we actually care about.

Zimbabwe is sad, no doubt. But we really don't pay much attention to the country. Certainly not enough to care to plot against them. That may hurt Mugabe's pride, but there you go.

Mugabe's Zimbabwe is collapsing. We'll see how Africa and the international community help out. We're busy.
