Out of Bounds

The Pakistani government finally ordered an assault on the Red Mosque in Islamabad where jihadis had holed up:

The troops stormed the mosque compound before dawn. More than 12 hours later, they were still trying to root out the well-armed defenders said to be holding a number of hostages. Officials said at least 50 women were allowed to go free from the complex. Some 26 children had earlier escaped.

When the Taliban types stuck to the border and restricted themselves to going off on jihad to Aghanistan and Kashmir, the Pakistani government was happy enough to look the other way.

But no deal with the Devil can last long. When you are on a mission from God as the jihadis are (as Strategypage often describes the concept), there are no boundaries. Just victory or death.

Give them death.
