Getting Set in Lebanon

Is Syria preparing to go on offense in Lebanon? Syrian troops have entered Lebanon and rumors of mid-July coups are in the air.

Add in the Hamas victory in Gaza, Hizbollah rearming in southern Lebanon, and Sadr's return to Iran.

Does all this signal a general Iranian-led offensive with Syria loyally tagging along to restore chances of victory in Iraq in the face of our advances there?

Will we see Sadr's boys attack in Iraq, Hamas and Hizbollah hit Israel, Hizbollah and Syria overthrow Lebanon, and coups in Gulf states or Jordan?

It is perhaps significant under the circumstances that Ahmadinejad is going to Syria next week to meet Assad.

Man, just one JDAM ...

If Iran provokes us like this and we keep our heads, we could get the chance to use our conventional military power to really hammer our enemies.

Unless our so-called leaders are so primed for retreat that they will collapse at the first whiff of gunpowder. I'm sure that's what our enemies assume after four years of our loyal opposition undermining our war effort.
