The Alexandrian Solution

Iran presses ahead:

Iran announced Tuesday that it planned to restart nuclear research, a move that jeopardized an agreement with the Europeans, complicated a Russian initiative and prompted an American threat.

The European agreement is less than worthless, and would actually pay Iran while doing nothing to stop the Iranians from going nuclear. The Russian initiative is just cover for the Iranians to proceed full speed ahead. And our so-called threat to refer the matter to the UN Security Council where exactly nothing will happen if we carry out this "threat"is a joke:

Iran could be gambling that even if it restarts nuclear research activities, it would once again avoid international sanctions. Despite threats by both the United States and the Europeans to refer Iran to the Security Council for punitive action after it resumed activities at Isfahan, the countries were forced to back down in the face of opposition from China and Russia, which each have veto power there.

The UN was supposed to be a tool to enhance collective security against threats to the peace--not a shield to prevent collective security against those threats. The thugs of the world use the rules to entangle us in legal knots so we cannot use our power to stop them.

So the only thing to do is cut the Gordian Knot and bypass the hallowed UN.

Take down the mullahs' regime in Iran before it is too late!

And then veto the Russian UNSC resolution condemning our action.
