Rally 'Round the Flag, Boys

Opponents of helping overthrow Iran's mullahs like to argue our aid will only cause dissidents to rally to the government they fear and hate.

I've already pointed out that our Left has not rallied to our government because we were attacked. many seem eager for our defeat in Iraq.

Syria's opposition seems to be emboldened by outside pressure on the regime.

And I'd like to point out that when foreign jihadis intervened in Iraq and started killing Iraqis, the Baathists embraced the jihadis rather than rally to the government's side to oppose the whackjobs coming across the border.

I really just want to know why Iranian dissidents appear to be so uniquely particular in their choice of friends, allies, and enemies.
