IAEA chairman Muhammad ElBaradei on Monday confirmed Israel's assessment that Iran is only a few months away from creating an atomic bomb.
If Teheran indeed resumed its uranium enrichment in other plants, as threatened, it will take it only "a few months" to produce a nuclear bomb, El-Baradei told The Independent.
We've been told repeatedly by those who oppose dealing with Iran's nuclear ambitions that since an Iranian nuclear bomb is perhaps a decade away, we can kick this can down the road and worry later. And in the meantime we can let the Euros play "let's pretend" by negotiating with the Iranians. The Iranians, it seems, weren't actually serious about negotiating away their nukes--no really, it's true.
I've worried that we can't know how close Iran is and that Iran's delaying tactics may be to get them the few years they need to go nuclear. Well, Iran's been delaying for a couple years now and the IAEA seems to think Iran could go nuclear in several months.
I've almost completely lost hope that we are planning to do something about Iran.
