Serious Delusions

In the magical fantasy world of Putin where vodka pours from kitchen faucets, where frozen tundra is nutritious and tasty, and where Russia is the last best hope for humankind, this kind of reasoning works:

Putin: Missile Strikes on Syria Deal 'Serious Blow' to US-Russia Ties

In the real world, Russian armed aggression against Georgia and Ukraine; brutal warfare in Syria to support the mass-murderer Assad; nuclear threats against NATO and Sweden; support for nuclear-seeking Iran; harassment of American ships and planes in international waters and air space; blatant propaganda efforts and cyber-war on our political system; and resistance to dealing with North Korean nuclear programs have dealt a serious blow to US-Russian ties.

In Putin's world relations are great as long as we ignore what Russia is doing. Reacting to Russia is what hurts ties.

UPDATE: Putin has thoughts about the "fake" Syrian chemical strike:

"We have information that a similar provocation is being prepared ... in other parts of Syria including in the southern Damascus suburbs where they are planning to again plant some substance and accuse the Syrian authorities of using (chemical weapons)."

What? No information that America will shoot down a Malaysian airliner flying over Syria?

Well who knows? America already prepared a provocation that put in place an apparently ruthless and bloody-minded ruler in Russia to make good excuses for rearming NATO.
