Is the Army Really Cool With This?

Ukrainian protesters are desperately trying to hold out in Kiev. The army previously said it would not intervene in the standoff. Is the army fine with the people being attacked?

The images from Ukraine are not pretty:

With hundreds of riot police officers advancing from all sides after a day of deadly mayhem here in the Ukrainian capital, antigovernment protesters mounted a final desperate and seemingly doomed act of defiance late on Tuesday evening, establishing a protective ring of fire around what remained of their all-but-conquered encampment on Independence Square.

Yes, the military said it didn't want to get involved.

But that was when it was a protest movement and negotiations. Is the army really content to watch the police violently break up the protests? Their top military leader said that he can't guarantee that the military won't intervene in the latest fighting. Is the military redeploying to Kiev as RUMORINT says?

Are the army troops really watching this and thinking this is none of their business as their sovereignty is sold to the Russians? Will troops obey orders to confront protesters?

Will Putin arrange for ethnic Russian militias from the east and south of Ukraine to be sent into the cities to support the government police efforts against protesters?

Will Kerry at least comment on the carbon footprint of all those fires in the Maidan public square?
