MSDNC

Let's talk faux news, ok?

Yes, Fox News was biased the other way, with negative-to-positive stories about President Obama at a nearly 8:1 ratio (although MSNBC was several times worse, ratio-wise, at nearly 24:1 against Romney), but you have to go deep into the story to see an example of the mainstream media--CNN--coverage.

CNN's coverage of President Obama was barely negative; while their coverage of Romney was more than three times negative.

I will say that based on Pews' numbers, CBS and NBC treated both candidates similarly, while ABC showed a bias for Obama.

But for those networks, I'd urge some caution on the numbers. It would be a negative story, I suppose, if it was either about how a candidate was eating kittens for breakfast or if the candidate was distracted because of the unfair accusations by their opponent that they were eating kittens for breakfast. I don't trust Pew as an honest counter for this measure.

I just want to know why the press thinks of itself as a virtual fourth branch of government to keep the president in check by asking questions that need asking only when a Republican holds office.
