Expel Iran

Iran is going nuclear, and we are fooling ourselves to believe that somehow we can find the magic carrot that will persuade the mullahs to give up their quest for nuclear weapons.

This is just aggravating:

A day after Iran's president warned that the country might withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty if international pressure escalated, the Foreign Ministry issued an assurance today that Iran was still committed to the treaty.

"We are committed to our commitments within the N.P.T.," a Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hamid Reza Assefi, said during his weekly press conference, the IRNA news agency reported. "But we cannot accept that the treaty is used as a political instrument."

"The agency and other parties should not block roads to Islamic Republic of Iran and should solve the case in the framework of the regulations," he was quoted as saying.

Why are we engaged in a dance with Iran over whether they will remain a member of the International Atomic Energency Agency? They are clearly not in compliance and in pursuit of a nuclear weapon regardless of the precise status of their commitment to IAEA commitments.

Expel Iran from the IAEA. Be done with this pretend pull and tug that is only designed to buy time for Iran to go nuclear.
